Five-Ingredient No-Bake Slightly-Healthier Caffeinated Peanut Butter Balls

I try to eat healthy, but I love food. I mean, I really love food.

But the cards are a little stacked against us. All the best shit is all the worst shit for you. So it's always my personal goal to see how close I can get a bad food to being good-ish without hurting what matters most: taste.

Our 5INBCPBB's had a lot of possibilities given how simple and easily-replaced the ingredients can be. I also thought that they'd be a little easier to eat and offer if they were in ball-form instead of bars, like buckeyes. So here's what I did:

  1. 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate morsels (chocolate stays, fool)
  2. 1 reasonably-ripe banana (still more yellow than black)
  3. 1 and ½ cups of granola (any ola will do)
  4. ¼ cup confectioner's sugar • Keep in mind that the sugar's main job here is to make the balls stay together a little tighter, so you can replace it with almost anything dry. If some brave soul out there wanted to swap that for protein powder (I'd suggest vanilla), we'd be very interested to hear the results.
  5. 1 jar of STEEM Caffeinated Peanut Butter

(and one cookie sheet lined with wax paper or tinfoil)

Step 1.

Read steps of previous blog post, replacing graham crackers with the granola, the banana for the stick of butter, and the sugar for less-sugar or wildcard.

Step 2.

Once mixed, scoop out balls roughly the size of a tablespoon and place them on the cookie sheet. Depending on how moist the mixture is, the balls may not keep their shape very well. It helps to refrigerate the mix for a while before scooping, and then to even put the balls back into the fridge until you're ready for:

Step 3.

Balls take a lot more chocolate than bars, which is why this version calls for twice the amount of chips. Melt the chocolate the same as before, but then instead of dumping it out, dunk the balls

Good lord, I need to get it out of my system: BALLS BALLS BALLS BALLSY BALLS BALLS DUNK ME BALLS

Dunk the balls in the chocolate until they're coated, then place them back on the cookie sheet. Depending on how big your balls are

that should make about 24. Put them in the fridge for at least an hour or two.

So here's a picture of my balls.

Banana and chocolate are already good friends, as are banana and peanut butter, so getting all three of them together works perfectly. I'm going to go ahead and say that no taste was sacrificed with this version. I may even like this kind better. Anyway, as always, our peanut butter is open-source so please make crazy shit with it, and please send pictures. Of your balls.

Not your testicles, though. Please don't send us pictures of your testicles. Please.
